Alternative Hypothesis

In testing, the alternative hypothesis (often written as H1 or Ha) is what you're actually hoping to prove – that your new variation does perform differently than the control. It's the opposite of the null hypothesis (which assumes no difference). You run the test to see if you have enough evidence to reject the null and accept the alternative.
